The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) conference May 25-31 was at the Hilton Chicago Hotel.   The theme for 2019 was "Making the Case for Natural History Collections."  Kirk Wallace Johnson, Peggy Macnamara & Kyle Aaron Copas were the PLENARY Speakers on May 28th.

A presentation by Peggy Macnamara and Mary Hennen about their g book, "The Peregrine's Return", published by University of Chicago Press (June 2017).  During the Lunch hour Peggy will be signing books including her new coloring book for adults.

March 5th - April 17th  Opening Reception Sunday March 5th 1:00 to 3:00 "The Choreography of Birds" Art Exhibit.  

Choreography is the art of designing sequences of movements and birds both in flight as well as on still water arrange themselves masterfully. Explore the work of painter, author, and Field Museum Artist in Residence, Peggy Macnamara. The exhibition will include paintings from her new books, “Art of the Peregrine Falcon” and “Coloring Nature”.

Guest speaker at the Natural Land Institutes 

Annual Dinner, 6-9pm 

Cliffbreaker Riverside Resort ,Rockford, Illinois  Artist and Author, Peggy Macnamara, will be the guest speaker for Natural Land Institute’s 2015 Annual Dinner. As an artist who studies nature, Macnamara has a keen eye for seeing details and bringing the subjects in her watercolor paintings to life. She will tell us about her work and experiences seeing nature from an artist’s perspective. Macnamara is the author of five books including, Illinois Insects and Spiders and The Art of Migration, which features her drawings and watercolors. She is also the Artist in Residence at the Field Museum and Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Macnamara will also sign and sell her books at the Annual Dinner.
